What is Vesicare and what it is used?

The active substance of Vesicare belongs to the antiholinegichnite drugs. These drugs are used to reduce the activity of the overactive bladder . This allows you to wait longer before you go to the bathroom and increases the amount of urine that the bladder can hold .

Vesicare is used to treat the symptoms of overactive bladder. Symptoms include : intense, uncontrollable urge to urinate without warning , often going to the toilet and wetting yourself if you can not go to the toilet in time .

2 . What you should know before taking Vesicare ?

Do not use Vesicare

- If you suffer from urinary incontinence ( urine remaining in the bladder due to its difficult emptying ) .
- If you have severe gastrointestinal complaints , including toxic megacolon (acute expansion of the colon associated with ulcerative colitis) if you suffer from muscle disease ( myasthenia gravis ) , disruption of neuromuscular function , which is characterized by muscle weakness .
- If you have increased pressure in the gradual loss of vision (glaucoma ) .
- If you are allergic to solifenacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6) .
- If you are undergoing dialysis .
- If you suffer from severe liver disease.
- If you have severe kidney disease or moderate liver disease while taking drugs that inhibit ( suppress ) the removal of Vesicare of the body ( eg, ketoconazole ) . In this case, your doctor will warn you .

Before starting treatment with Vesicare , tell your doctor if you have or have had any of the above mentioned conditions.

Warnings and Precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Vesicare :

- If you have a blockage of the urinary bladder ( bladder obstruction ) or difficulty in passing urine (eg weak urine stream ) because there is a greater risk of accumulation of urine in the bladder ( urinary retention ) .

- If you complain about the obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract ( constipation ) .

- If you are at a risk of reduced activity of the gastrointestinal tract ( movements of the stomach and intestines ) . Your doctor will tell you if there is such a risk.

- If you have severe kidney disease.

- If you have moderate liver disease .

- If you have heartburn ( hiatal hernia ) or heartburn if you suffer from a disorder of the nervous system ( autonomic neuropathy) .

Children and adolescents

Vesicare should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years.

Before starting treatment with Vesicare , tell your doctor if you have or have had any of the above mentioned conditions.

Before you start taking Vesicare , your doctor will decide there are other reasons for the increased frequency of urination ( eg, heart failure , where the heart can not pump enough blood or kidney disease). If you suffer from urinary tract infection , your doctor will prescribe antibiotic treatment (treatment against specific bacterial cause ) .

Other medicines and Vesicare

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking , have recently taken or might take other medicines.

It is particularly important to tell your doctor if you take:

- Other anticholinergic drugs. The effects and side effects of both products can be strengthened.

- Agonisgi cholinergic receptors because it can weaken the effect of Vesicare .

- Drugs such as metoclopramide or cisapride, which stimulate motility ( peristalsis ) of the gastrointestinal tract . Vesicare can reduce the effect of the drugs.

- Drugs such as ketoconazole , ritonavir , nelfinavir , itraconazole , verapamil and diltiazem, which may delay the removal of the body Vesicare

- Drugs , such as rifampicin , phenytoin, and carbamazepine, which may accelerate the removal of Vesicare body .

- Drugs such as bisphosphonates, which can cause or exacerbate inflammation of the esophagus ( esophagitis ) .

Vesicare with food, drinks and alcohol

You can take Vesicare with or without food , depending on your preference.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility

You should not use Vesicare during pregnancy , except in cases of extreme necessity.
Do not use Vesicare while breastfeeding as solifenacin may pass into breast milk.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines

Vesicare can cause blurred vision and less sleepiness or fatigue. Therefore, if you suffer from these side effects , do not drive or operate machinery.

Vesicare contains lactose. Do not use this medicine if your doctor has told you that you suffer from a rare hereditary disorders of galactose intolerance , the Lapp lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose / galactose.

3 . How to take Vesicare ?
Instructions for proper use

You must take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor . If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with some liquid. Can be taken with or without food , as you see fit. Tablets should not be crushed.

The recommended dose is 5 mg once a day, unless your doctor has prescribed 10 mg once daily.

If you take more than the amount of Vesicare

If you take too much Vesicare , or if a child accidentally took Vesicare , consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Symptoms of overdose may include: headache , dry mouth , dizziness, drowsiness and blurred vision, seeing or hearing things not real (hallucinations ), expressed excitability, seizures ( convulsions ) , respiratory disorders, rapid heart rate ( tachycardia), retention urine (urinary ) and expansion of the pupils ( mydriasis ) .

If you forget to take Vesicare

If you forget to take your tablet at the usual time , take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for your next dose. Never take more than one dose per day. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

If you stop taking Vesicare

If you stop taking Vesicare , the symptoms of an overactive bladder may return or get worse. Always consult your doctor if you plan to stop treatment .

4 . Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .

Should immediately inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic attack ( eg, blistering or peeling of the skin).

In some patients solifenatsinov succinate ( Vesicare ) is communicated angioedema ( allergic skin reaction, which leads to otochnost occurring tissue just below the skin surface ) with an airway obstruction (difficulty in breathing ) . If there angioedema solifenatsinov succinate ( Vesicare ) should be stopped immediately and take appropriate treatment / measures .

Vesicare can cause the following other side effects: Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people)

- Dry mouth

Common ( may affect up to 1 in 10 people )

- Blurred vision
- Constipation, nausea, indigestion with symptoms of bloating , abdominal pain, belching, nausea , heartburn (dyspepsia ) , stomach disorders

Uncommon ( may affect up to 1 in 100 people)

- Of urinary tract infections , bladder infections
- drowsiness
- Abnormal perception of taste ( dysgeusia )
- Dry ( irritated ) eyes
- Dry nose
- Reflux disease ( gastroesophageal reflux disease )
- Dry throat
- Dry skin
- Difficulty urinating
- fatigue
- Swelling of the legs ( edema)

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1000 people)

- Accumulation of hardened feces in the colon
- Increased amount of urine in the bladder because of inability to emptying ( urinary retention )
- Dizziness , headache
- Itching, rash.

Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people)

- Hallucinations, confusion
- Allergic rash

Not known ( data can not be estimated ) - decreased appetite , high levels of potassium in the blood, which can cause abnormal heart rhythm
abnormal intraocular pressure

- Changes in cardiac conduction (ECG ) , heart rhythm disturbances (Torsade

de Pointes)
- Disorders of the voice
- Liver disorders
- Muscle weakness
- Renal impairment

If you get any side effects, tell your doctor or pharmacist. This includes all listed in this leaflet .

5 . How to store Vesicare ?

Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use Vesicare after the expiry date stated carton after " EXP " . Expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions .

What does Vesicare ?

The active substance in one tablet Vesicare 5 mg solifenatsinov succinate 5 mg.

The other ingredients are corn starch , lactose , Hypromellose (E464 ) , magnesium stearate , macro goal , talc , titanium dioxide ( E171), and ferric oxide (E 172)

Vesicare looks like and contents of the pack ?

Vesicare 5 mg tablets are round , light yellow tablets with company logo and the number " 150" on the same side .

Each pack contains 10 tablets in a blister, one or more blisters placed into cardboard boxes .
