WHAT ferro-FOLGAMMA and under what circumstances USED?

Therapy with iron, folic acid and vitamin B12

 

Ferro-Folgamma be used in combined states of iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 with different backgrounds. Lack of folic acid, vitamin B, 2 and iron can occur as a result of blood loss (bleeding from the stomach, intestines and bladder, haemorrhoids, menstruation, childbirth), during pregnancy and lactation (maternal and child), insufficient or incorrect nutrition, chronic alcohol abuse, interference with absorption, continuous hemodialysis, and as a consequence of treatment with anticonvulsant medications and oral contraceptives.

A deficiency of folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron can occur as anemia, neuropathy, megaloblastic anemia, neurological and psychological disorders, changes in mucosal funikularna mieloza, fatigue, pallor, tingling in hands and feet, and decreased physical stamina.

 

 WHAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BEFORE YOU TAKE ferro-FOLGLMMA?

 

Do not take Ferro-Folgamma

 

 in the accumulation of iron in the body (hemochromatosis, chronic hemolysis) and disturbances in iron metabolism (sideroahrestichni anemia, lead anemia, thalassemia).

Is contraindicated in megaloblastic anemia due to deficiency of vitamin B12 only (eg lack of intrizing factor) and a deficit of folic acid only.

Particular attention when taking Ferro-Folgamma need to:

 

Children

 

The medicinal product is not suitable for children under the age of 12.

 

Elderly

 

No need for precautions.

 

Taking / using other medicines

 

Interactions with other medicinal products

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using or have recently adopted / implemented other

medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

 Iron salts reduce absorption of tetracyclines, penicillamine, methyldopa and levodopa.

 Iron salts affect the absorption of quinolone antibiotics (eg ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin)

 Iron salts reduce absorption of thyroxine in patients undergoing replacement therapy with thyroxine.

 Absorption of iron can be reduced by concomitant administration of cholestyramine, antacids (Ca + +, Mg + +, Al + + +-salt) and calcium-and magnesium-containing medicinal products intended for the completion of calcium and magnesium deficiency.

 Concomitant use of iron salts with NSAIDs may increase irritation of the lining of the iron on the gastrointestinal tract.

 Zhelyazosvarzvashtite substances such as phosphates, phytates and oxalates, as well as milk, coffee and tea inhibit iron absorption.

Ferro-Folgamma should not be taken within 2-3 hours after administration / administration of the aforementioned substances.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Ferro-Folgamma

 

Warnings

 

To reduce the risk of a possible overdose of iron need special attention when they apply dietetic measures or other preparations containing iron salts.

This product contains sorbitol. Please, if you know that you have an intolerance (hypersensitivity) to certain sugars start taking Ferro-Folgamma only after you have discussed this with your doctor.

 HOW TO TAKE ferro-FOLGAMMA?

 

Please take Ferro-Folgamma always exactly as directed by your physician and patient information. Refer questions to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

 

Dosage

In the event that your doctor advises otherwise, the usual doses are:

 

Adults: 3 times daily 1-2 capsules

Children over 12 years: 3 x 1 capsule daily.

 

Route of administration

If you take more than the amount of Ferro-Folgamma

 

Short-term overdose is generally not serious. If you are experiencing symptoms, please contact your doctor.

 

If you forget to take Ferro-Folgamma

 

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Continue taking Ferro-Folgamma as before, at the usual time, and strive in the future to maintain a regular intake.

 

If you stop taking Ferro-Folgamma

 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

 

Like all medicines, Ferro-Folgamma can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. In the assessment of adverse events following data are used for the frequency of their occurrence:

Common: More than 1 in 10 but more than 1 in 100

Uncommon: less than 1 in 100 but more than 1 in 1,000

Rare: less than 1 in 1,000 but more than 1 in 10,000 treated

Very rare: less than 1 in 10,000 treated, incl. single cases

 

Adverse reactions

 

Iron

 

The compounds of iron have local irritation and therefore could lead

to gastrointestinal upset or constipation.

In rare cases there may be allergic reactions, such as erythema, pruritus, bronchospasm or anaphylactic shock. Note: Dark colored stool are disturbing. Benzidinovata sample will be positive.

 

Folate

 

At high doses are rarely gastrointestinal disturbances, sleep disturbances, irritability, and depression.

 

Vitamin B12
