WHAT IS 5-HYDROXYTYPTOPHANE (5-HTP)?
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a substance that is formed in the human body by the essential amino acid tryptophan that comes into the body through food.
In the brain, 5-hydroxytryptophan, in turn, turns into serotonin, a substance that transmits nerve impulses between brain cells. Serotonin is also known as the "hormone of happiness".
Additional administration of 5-hydroxytryptophan tablets increases the levels of serotonin in the brain.
5-hydroxytryptophan also indirectly affects dopamine levels, which contributes to maintaining the balance between serotonin and dopamine in the brain.

II. WHAT IS NEOLEXAN SR?
NEOLEXAN SR contains 150 mg of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) in the form of prolonged-release tablets. Prolonged release of the active substance allows the preparation to be taken only 2 times a day and at the same time levels of the active substance in the body remain constant. This ensures an adequate and safe operation of NEOLEXAN SR throughout the day.

III. WHY IS NEOLEXAN SR INTENDED FOR?
Neolexan has a favorable effect on the following conditions:

1. Mood, tone and daily activity
Normal levels of serotonin in the brain are beneficial to our mood, tone and daily activity. When serotonin levels are steadily declining, it is manifested by a lack of interest in daily activities, lack of energy and concentration, sense of helplessness, hopelessness and sadness, futility and inadequacy, poor sleep, decreased sexual activity, significant increase or loss weight, fatigue, etc. Sometimes these conditions can continue to worsen our quality of life. Often, these conditions arise as a protective response to stressors in the surrounding environment, but sometimes the cause is more serious. Maintaining adequate levels of serotonin in the brain works extremely favorably in these conditions.

2. Memory, logical thinking, attention, perception
Taking 5-hydroxytryptophan tablets helps the cognitive functions of the brain, boosting serotonin levels in the frontal portion of the brain cortex that is responsible for thinking, concentration and memory.

3. Coordination
The balance between serotonin and dopamine in certain parts of the brain is key to the coordination and control of fine human movements. Adequate intake of 5-hydroxytryptophan creates a prerequisite for maintaining such a balance in the nervous system.

4. Harmful habits
By refraining from harmful habits such as excessive use of alcohol, smoking, etc., maintaining adequate serotonin levels by taking 5-hydroxytryptophan helps ease the compliance and performance of daily activities in the absence of harmful habits.
